ST. MARY YOUTH LEADERS
Mission Statement
To facilitate and strengthen the relationship between youth and God, through mentorship, Bible Study, life discussion forums and programs.
Core Objectives
• To build a strong youth foundation and identification with the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (EOTC) for the Christian leaders of tomorrow.
• To foster a sense of belonging within the youth of the greater EOTC-St. Mary Cathedral's community.
• To enlighten the youth with the lessons of the Bible within the context of the modern world, as it is pertinent to the EOTC teachings.
• To provide information and support on topics and issues that relates to youth's everyday life concerns (i.e. education, employment, health and relationships, etc.)
• To assemble and engage the youth within the church’s religious and community activities.
• To organize and create social and recreational activities to bring the youth together with their fellow Christian friends.
• To provide youth with a platform in which they may give back to the Ethiopian-community and the greater society through charitable acts.
FAITH CREED
We believe in one God, the Lord, the Father Almighty, maker of the heavens and the earth and of all things visible and invisible.
We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only-begotten Son of the Father, who was with him before the creation of the world: Light of Light, true God from true God, begotten not made, equal with the Father in his Godhead: By whom all things were made, but without him was not anything made, neither in heaven nor on earth; who for us human-beings and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and of the Holy Virgin Mary. He was made man and was crucified for us in the days of Pontius Pilate; he suffered, died, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day as it is written in the Holy Scriptures. He ascended with glory into heaven, sat at the right hand of his Father, and will come again with glory to judge the living and the dead; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father, we worship and glorify him with the Father and the Son; who spoke by the prophets; and we believe in one holy, universal, apostolic Church. We believe in one baptism for the remission of sin; and await the resurrection of the dead and the life to come, world without end.

OUR CHURCH
The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (EOTC) was one of the first Church in the world to accept Christianity as its state religion in 330 ACE, and also the only African nation to accept and defend the Christian religion without the influence of the colonial power. Since its inception, the Church has contributed a tremendous amount of moral, social, cultural, educational, artistic and architectural values to Ethiopia.
The EOTC - St. Mary Cathedral of Toronto, ON was founded in 1991 under the leadership of Abune Yeshaq Archbishop of the E.O.T.C. Western Hemisphere Diocese by Like Kahenat (Rev.) Messale Engeda. The St. Mary Cathedral belong to the legitimate Holy Synod of the EOTC in Exile under the leadership of his Holiness Abune Merkorios, Patriarch of the EOTC.
